Intern & Volunteer with EDRS
We’re always looking for more interns and volunteers to join our team in helping us spread our mission of eating disorder recovery and support.
We’re looking for: General interns, Social Media interns, Publicity interns, Volunteer Coordinator interns and an EDRS Lending Library Intern.
What we can give you: We offer college and high school credits to students, experience in working with the eating disorder recovery field and a glowing letter of recommendation when you’ve successfully completed your internship.
What you will be doing:
General Interns will be doing a variety of tasks from research, to creating fliers, to working with the other interns. As a general intern, you will be helping the EDRS Board members with different tasks that they’ll give you.
Social Media Interns will be in charge of updating the EDRS Facebook page, Blog and website and will be in charge of fielding questions from the EDRS email account. As a Social Media Intern, you will also be connecting with a lot of people within the Eating Disorder Recovery Community and other ed bloggers to get guest bloggers, conduct interviews and do online collaborations and events. You will also be engaging in other eating disorder recovery online communities and will implement our SEO and backlinking campaign.
Publicity Interns will send out press releases and pitch articles and interviews to print and online publications, blogs, radio shows, podcasts and other media.
Volunteer Coordinator Interns will reach out to organizations that connect non-profits with volunteers, will help interested people decide what they will do to volunteer, will reach out to high schools’ and colleges’ Counseling and Career Development Offices and act as a our Volunteer Coordinator liaison.
EDRS Lending Library Interns will contact people who check out books, contact authors to donate books and work with our Social Media and Publicity Interns to help spread the word about our lending library.
