Kara Pate — PR/Marketing and Community Education Committee

Kara knows first-hand the destructive nature of eating disorders and addictions. Her battle began at 13 and freedom did not come until she was near death at age 27. It was through the unconditional love of Jesus Christ, intensive therapeutic intervention and involvement in 12 step communities that she found her true identity and a life beyond her wildest dreams. For the past seven years Kara has worked as the west coast professional outreach representative for Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center. In this role she collaborates with other treatment centers and mental health professionals to find the best treatment options for individuals who are still struggling. Kara received her BA in Communications from California State University Long Beach in 2006 and her MA in Social Entrepreneurship and Change from Pepperdine University in 2012. She has held board positions for local chapters of both The International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals and the Women’s Association of Addiction Treatment. Kara resides with her husband in Redding, CA where she just completed her first year at Bethel Supernatural School of Ministry. “My passion in life is to see those struggling with eating disorders and addictions restored to wholeness through the power of an all-loving creator.”
