Kathleen “Kara” Fitzpatrick, Ph.D.

Dr. Kathleen "Kara" Fitzpatrick works at Stanford University/LPCH's Eating Disorders and Bariatric Surgery Clinics where she works in the Department of Psychiatry.  Her research work focuses on clinical treatment evaluations for eating disorders, including treatment development, training, and dissemination.  Currently, her research focus is on neuropsychological functioning associated with eating disorders, malnourishment and changes in weight.

Clinically, Dr. Fitzpatrick's work evaluates treatments for children and adolescents including Family-Based Therapy (FBT or "Maudsley"), Cognitive Remediation Therapy (CRT), preparing for weight loss surgery and novel treatments for extreme picky-eating and medical feeding concerns.
